Deborah Coolidge
Biography
Deb Coolidge is an artist living in Dartmouth Ma. She teaches at RISD in the foundation program, spatial dynamics and has a studio at home. She received her BFA from University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MFA from RISD . Upon graduation she began teaching. Her artwork has ranged from ceramic work to painting and drawing and frequently they are combined. Currently she is working with trees studying the patterning of the bark, mapping what is present as well as intuitively deciphering their language. The titles of the drawings indicate the Latin name of the trees as well as the coordinates of their locations. Her artwork is represented in many collections across the country.
