WaterFire: Illuminating the Mirror

WaterFire Providence and Dedee Shattuck Gallery are pleased to announce WaterFire: Illuminating the Mirror, Thursday July 24th 7-9pm. Barnaby Evans, creator of WaterFire will speak of the artwork's intention and impact in Providence, share images of WaterFire projects around the world and reflect on the place of art and ritual in our public and private lives. Throughout the month of July, Dedee Shattuck Gallery will be exhibiting, The Contemporary Figure: Sergei Isupov, Anne Leone, Dan Ludwig, John Borowicz, Walter Horak. Versed in the study of the figure throughout art history, these artists present contemporary take on a classic form in porcelain, bronze, and paint. Please join us for an exciting and engaging evening Thursday July 24th 7-9pm as we discuss the art and culture embedded in our region. Being WaterFire, expect some surprises. There will be a guest appearance by Festival Ballet Providence. Dancers Alex Lantz and Elizabeth Mochizuki will be performing a work set to The Beatles, Elanor Rigby and Let it be, choreographed by Louisa Chapman.
