Sneak Peek of Performance of PARt

Ali kenner brodsky & co. will preform a "sneak peak" of PARt outside in the gallery sculpture garden, a new evening-length work choreographed by Kenner Brodsky with music composed by MorganEve Swain. PARt is a quintet and is crafted to shift the audience’s focus from woman to woman, their individual internal thoughts revealed through the subtle nuances of a gesture. PARt will have its premiere October 21-22, 2016 at the Jamestown Arts Center, RI.

Bio

Ali Kenner Brodsky is the artistic director of ali kenner brodsky & co. She was named Bates Dance Festival’s Emerging Choreographer for 2016, was the 2014 recipient of the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts Fellowship for Choreography and was an artist-in-residence at The Joyce SoHo ('03-'04) under the mentor-ship of Phyllis Lamhut.  ali kenner brodsky & co. have performed at various venues and festivals along the East Coast. She has had the privilege of working with Providence band Brown Bird and The Huntress on original compositions for her work, as well as with graphic artist Cyrus Highsmith on original art design.

Kenner Brodsky is on the adjunct dance faculty at Salve Regina University and Dean College, and has been a guest choreographer for both schools, as well as for Providence College. She graduated with honors in dance from Skidmore College. A Rhode Island native, Kenner Brodsky and her family now make their home in Dartmouth, Mass.
