Tai Chi with Ben Booth

Class meets Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm at the Dedee Shattuck Gallery

Intro Session: February 4 – March 25. 8 weeks

Intro Session cost: $80  (due to the progressive nature of the class, Tai Chi is done as a “course” rather than a “drop-in” setup)

No experience is necessary for this class, as it is taught in a comprehensive, step by step manner. Breathing techniques, fundamental postures, and the fluid series of Tai Chi movements will be taught, along with the associated stories and philosophies that make this an infinitely interesting practice. All ages and backgrounds are welcome!

Section 2:  Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00pm

April 1 – May 20. 8 weeks, $80

About Section 2: This is a continuation of the Intro. As Tai Chi is an art of Mastery, interested participants are encouraged to continue study. Many of Ben’s students in Cambridge are entering their 8th year of practice this year!

Tai Chi is an ancient practice that brings us on an insightful journey into knowledge, health, and balance in mind and body. Tai Chi is often called a “foundation” practice, as its benefits can uplift the way we attend to all of our life’s goals.

Instructor Ben Booth learned Tai Chi while living in China, and studied in full-time, live-in settings, with great masters and practitioners from Shaolin Temple and Wudang Mountain. Ben also studied Yoga and Kalaripayattu while living in India,  has undergone extensive wilderness meditation retreats, and has spent 20 years studying Zen and Tibetan Buddhism. Ben is also a lifelong open-water rower, and teaches river and coastal rowing here in Westport.
