Nicole graduated in 1998, from UMass Dartmouth, with an MFA Degree in Fiber Arts. She has taught many workshops, at NISDA on Nantucket, Horizons, Snow Farm, Peters Valley's School of Crafts in New Jersey, the Community College of Rhode Island, UMass Dartmouth, Cape Cod Community College, and in France with Horizons To Go.

“Nature and architecture are my primary sources of inspiration. In my studio, I create patterned fabrics using the traditional Japanese technique of shibori. I stitch, tie, fold and clamp the fabric before hand dyeing, to produce colorful textures, geometrical and natural patterns. The patterns, colors, and textures I like to create are reminiscent of flowers, leaves, trees, the moon, sunsets, etc. My hats are embellished with hand knitted or needle felted details also inspired by nature.  They are visual poems. ”
