John Borowicz
Biography
John Borowicz has his roots in portrait painting and illustration. His work ranges from the representational to the absurd, pulling influences from traditional oil portraits and landscapes, classical sculptures, Modernist painting, pagan iconography, comic book illustration, and architectural drawings. In the past seven years, the birth of his three sons has made a clear influence on his work in terms of subject matter and attitude, as well as medium and process. The sense of imagination and absurd humor, as well as a childlike sense of explorative discovery, result in work that makes us laugh and blush. It's the kind of work we just can't stop looking at.
