Reed Foehl and Putnam Murdock have created this duo by formalizing their lifelong musical friendship.  Established by their parents bluegrass band forty years ago, the duo has been playing and writing together for fifteen years.  Their first collaboration was placed in the feature film Just Friends, and since then their songs have been placed in television, movies, and commercials.  Dusty and patient, their music is genuine Americana, telling stories of the human condition with lyrics and harmonies that push the boundaries while paying homage to tradition.

Reed Foehl

Born into a musical family, Reed grew up in  a small country town in New England, listening to his parents bluegrass band rehearse in the living room every Thursday night for all of his childhood. From there, Reed took to the streets at the early age of 11 performing at Boston's Faneuil Hall marketplace. He then became the front man for the band Acoustic Junction which toured for ten years nationwide and eventually signed with Capricorn/Mercury Records. In 2001 he began his solo career with the release of Spark which put him on the map in the publishing world, garnering placements in both film and television. His fourth solo album, Lost in the West was released in 2014, which led him to tour with Gregory Alan Isakov, Anais Mitchell, Todd Snider and Elizabeth Cook. Recently nominated for a Grammy for his song “Fly” was covered by the country legend Lee Ann Womack.  Recently releasing Wild, Wild Love, Reed is touring to support the new record.

“Reed has the ability to transport the soul, a true master.  One of the great songwriters of our time.”  Gregory Alan Isakov

“He sings like he feels every note … Each song tells a story, all of which he relates astonishingly well.”  The Boston Globe

Putnam Murdock

Putnam began his career as a touring musician, gaining comfort with the stage.  He then graduated from Berklee College of Music where he honed his songwriting craft.  Recently, Putnam worked with Florentine Films, Ken Burns’ company, recording the music to The Roosevelts, The Mayo Clinic, and Hiding In Plain Sight: Youth Mental Illness. With two records out, Putnam is releasing his next album later this fall.
